Several organizations aiming at empowering women and girls and getting more of them into STEM fields (including GetReady) gathered on april 27th, 2017 on the campus of the National Advanced School of Posts and Telecommunications to celebrate the girls in ICT day.
High school girls were given the opportunity to listen to the stories of professional women in STEM like Mme Aude Abena (President at AFISC), Mme Janet Fofang (Director at Girls In Tech Cameroon) and Mme Nathalie Tekam (Lead at GetReady), and exchange with them about how to build their own stories.
M. Ran Gidor, Ambassador of Israel in Cameroon expressed his encouragements and interest in the empowerment and a bigger involvement of women and girls into STEM fields.
The celebration was concluded by the presentation of the various organizations’ projects, and also of projects realized by the girls in their high school STEM clubs.
