To encourage scientific career vocations related to the environment and agriculture among young rural people , teachers must play a key role in the dissemination of teaching related to STEM.
In partnership with SAILD as part of the AgriSTEM project funded by the Pratt & Whitney E-STEM Awards grant, we are pleased to co-facilitate from January 23 to 25, 2023 a capacity building workshop for around thirty teachers of science subjects from 9th to 12th grade, on the importance of putting technology and engineering tools at the service of agriculture and the environment. The workshop is taking place at the Technical High School of Bangoua.
Specifically, the goals are:
– to equip teachers to improve the methodology of STEM teaching in secondary schools;
– train teachers on the design and use of educational sheets making the link between the concepts taught in class and agricultural and environmental protection activities;
– prepare teachers for the animation activities planned from February 7 to 9, 2023 in the frame of the AgriSTEM project;
– visit the Multipurpose Training Center of Mbouo.
